How To Make Money On Fiverr

The only reason why I titled the post "How To Make Money on Fiverr" is because that's what people search for.  You don't however "make money" on Fiverr, you earn it.  It's not a get rich quick website, it's a website where you offer a service and people pay you for it.

What's Fiverr you might ask?  Well it's an online community where people offer their services for only $5.  Everything from singing happy birthday to editing resumes (which is what I mostly do) can be purchased there.  You can view my Fiverr Profile here.

*Warning* some gigs are slightly risqué (nothing with adult content) but you can navigate away from those things pretty easily.

The downside of Fiverr is that they take a pretty hefty cut, 20% to be exact.  So you're only making $4 on any gig you do.  The good news is you can add gig "extras" as your rating increases to increase your revenue.  Another unfortunate downside to Fiverr is that it takes a few weeks for your money to clear as well, so not ideal if you need money immediately, but it is one of the quicker ways to earn money online.

I found Fiverr "sucess" almost by accident, I offered to re-write resumes for people and have them done in 2 days.  I was inundated with orders immediately.

Because I wanted to spend more time writing eBooks however, I changed my options so I will only write one page of a resume, and complete it within 6 days.  That slowed down the influx of orders, which is what I wanted. It also makes it more worth my time because many orders will pay $10 extra for a 2nd page and a rush order.  Now the resume I used to charge $5 for, is costing customers $15.  People are willing to pay it though because I've established very positive feedback.

There's nothing to lose posting a gig to Fiverr, give it a try if you're trying to earn extra money.  If you find you enjoy Fiverr and are interested in making more money I highly recommend the book "Fiverr Dollars" which I enjoyed and found so helpful I purchased the resale rights.  I don't necessarily endorse everything the author says, but it has excellent information.
